Through the collaboration with Star of Hope Romania, which had already taken the initiative to be on site, the needs could be identified and filled. It turned out that Sisters International was the first organization from outside, which came with help at the border crossings near Iasi, Romania.
When women and children sat without heat in tents at the border crossing, Sisters International was able to contribute funds for blankets and heaters. Star of Hope Romania had an available electrician who could quickly plug in the electric heaters.
At the Albita and Siret border crossings, the refugees have been given food, water, fruit, wet wipes, sweets and juice. During the first 3 weeks, 1500 refugees were helped in various ways. Mattresses and bedding were also purchased so that it was possible to urgently accommodate those who needed that help.
